Stephen Sheldrake set a new course record, lowering his own 2002 record of 2:03:48 to 2:01:21. Congratulations to him! No other competitor has gone below 2:04. In winning the women's race in 2:20:29, Julie Beetham recorded the fastest women's time since Steph Forrester's 2000 pre-Olympic warm-up of 2:08:26 (a time bettered in 2004 by only five men). 15/08/2004 Provisional Results uploaded (662k, requires Acrobat reader) 03/08/2004 Registration info updated in Race Info section. However, we will accept a number of entries at registration; please note late entrants will be asked to pay a £10 surcharge (£20 for relay teams). These entires will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Registration will be held on Friday 13 August from 16:00 to 20:00 at The Bicycle Works Triathlon Center 57-59 South Clerk Street Edinburgh, Scotland. The Gullane Beach Triathlon is located in a picturesque part of East Lothian about 20 miles east along the coast from Edinburgh. Gullane Bents is a beautiful sandy beach and the water at the beach has reached the highest EEC standards of cleanliness. The triathlon at Gullane is one of the most popular events for triathletes in Scotland and has hosted the Scottish Championship several times. This year the event is a triathlonScotland Grand Prix event, forms part of the BTA national series, and the National Fire Service Triathlon Club National Championship Series.
