Choosing the right ride session

Our rides are open to all members, non-members may join us for three rides after which it is hoped that you will join the club.

No one will be left behind, we will always sit up to regroup when required, but please ensure that you choose the ride which is suitable for your ability. Depending on numbers we may split into groups by ability, a slower group that typically rides at sub 18 miles an hour and a faster group. Otherwise we ride as a bunch and the ride leader ensures no one gets left behind.

Generally, our riders use road bikes on club rides, and not time trial bikes, other types of bike are slower, such as hybrids and MTBs, and if used on a club ride you may find you struggle to keep up. Your bike should be roadworthy and well maintained.

For more information about bike maintenance check out British Triathlon’s bike mechanics videos.

Cycling Session - Holyrood Car Park

Saturday Cycle – Holyrood Car Park –

9.30 am

Starting from Holyrood Car Park at 9.30 by the little kiosk.

The recent Scottish Government guidance and Triathlon Scotland guidance allows for 30 people to attend an organised sports session. For safety, we will do a ratio of 1 coach to 14 individuals (1:14) for cycling.

Cancelling your space:

To cancel a session, you need to login on the website then open the event page of the session you want to cancel:
At the bottom of that page you have a link to “Manage your bookings” that takes you to a page where you can cancel any specific session.
You can also use this direct link:

Should you sign up for this session, you agree to abide by the following:

  • People who are symptomatic should self-isolate for 7 days and household members for 14 days as per NHS guidance. No one who is self-isolating should attend an activity. At all times, participants should adhere to the Scottish Government’s physical distancing guidelines of staying at least 2m away from others. Increased hygiene measures must be in place at all times: If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve. Dispose of your tissue into an appropriate bin or place in a plastic bag and take home. Wash your hands afterwards for 20 seconds. Avoid touching your face and ensure to clean your hands with at least 60% alcohol gel when you finish participating. Bring your own hand gel. You should read the Triathlon Scotland guidance prior to the meet.
  • I will only participate in one swim session a day. The purpose of this is to limit the ‘bubbles’ you are in during a single day. Please be mindful of this should you be in other settings outside of the club.
