Club rides

During the summer months we offer a coached hill reps session most Tuesday nights. This session is open to all members of all abilities.

From May through to September, on the first Tuesday of the month we run a 10 mile TT (Time Trial) race at Silverknowes meeting at golf club to start at 1900 and third Tuesday of the month we also run a K/QOM (King or Queen of the mountain) at Arthur’s seat starting at barrier finishing at car park at top, again same time.

Between October and April, Turbo sessions running at PedalHouse are open to all members. Sessions run from every Tuesday from XX.XX until XX.XX. Please arrive by XX.XX to set up your bike on the turbo and be ready to start on time. The sessions are booked in blocks of XX at a cost of £XX.00 per person.

The Saturday session runs all year round accept when the weather prevents us! Depending on numbers we may split into groups by ability, otherwise we ride as a bunch and the ride leader ensures no one gets left behind. The ride leaves from the Dalkeith High School front entrance and typically takes 2 – 2.5 hours.

We encourage club members to organise and invite others via a facebook event or the email distribution list.

Cycling Session - Dalkeith Community High School

Saturday Cycle – Dalkeith Community High School –

9.30 am

We will aim to provide a cycle shortly after the swim session on a Saturday, meeting in  the car park at Dalkeith Community High School. The recent Scottish Government guidance and Triathlon Scotland guidance allows for 30 people to attend an organised sports session. For safety, we will do a ratio of 1 coach to 14 individuals (1:14) for cycling.

Cancelling your space:

We have had people cancel their sessions on the Facebook main page, with people taking the slots offered. We have not been receiving those before the session. For track and trace purposes, we MUST keep a record of everyone attending sessions. So can you please email at membership@edinburghtri.org to cancel your spot instead. Please don’t make a slot available on a Facebook public post as it makes it difficult for us to monitor and please do not attend a session without booking your session. This is for everyone’s safety, so we need to be strict about this.

Should you sign up for this session, you agree to abide by the following:

  • People who are symptomatic should self-isolate for 7 days and household members for 14 days as per NHS guidance. No one who is self-isolating should attend an activity. At all times, participants should adhere to the Scottish Government’s physical distancing guidelines of staying at least 2m away from others. Increased hygiene measures must be in place at all times: If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve. Dispose of your tissue into an appropriate bin or place in a plastic bag and take home. Wash your hands afterwards for 20 seconds. Avoid touching your face and ensure to clean your hands with at least 60% alcohol gel when you finish participating. Bring your own hand gel. You should read the Triathlon Scotland guidance prior to the meet.
  • I will only participate in one session a day. The purpose of this is to limit the ‘bubbles’ you are in during a single day. Please be mindful of this should you be in other settings outside of the club.
