Club training

Edinburgh Triathletes seeks to provide an inclusive training environment within one of the largest and most successful triathlon clubs in Scotland. We organise two premier events in the triathlon calendar namely the Gullane Beach triathlon and the New Year’s Day triathlon, and it is thought that the first triathlon in Scotland was organised by ET members.

Wednesday Run – Inverleith Park – 6 pm
(road shoes recommended)

The recent Scottish Government guidance and Triathlon Scotland guidance allows for 30 people to attend an organised sports session. For safety, we will do a ratio of 1 coach to 14 individuals (1:14) for running.

Join our run at Inverleith Park meeting at 6pm at the West Gate on E Fettes Ave.
The session will usually be coached from the obelisk in the center of the park so if you’re a few minutes late, that’s where we will be.

Should you sign up for this session, you agree to abide by the following:

  • People who are symptomatic should self-isolate for 7 days and household members for 14 days as per NHS guidance. No one who is self-isolating should attend an activity. At all times, participants should adhere to the Scottish Government’s physical distancing guidelines of staying at least 2m away from others. Increased hygiene measures must be in place at all times: If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve. Dispose of your tissue into an appropriate bin or place in a plastic bag and take home. Wash your hands afterwards for 20 seconds. Avoid touching your face and ensure to clean your hands with at least 60% alcohol gel when you finish participating. Bring your own hand gel. You should read the Triathlon Scotland guidance prior to the meet.
  • I will only participate in one swim session a day. The purpose of this is to limit the ‘bubbles’ you are in during a single day. Please be mindful of this should you be in other settings outside of the club.

Starting from Holyrood Car Park at 9.30 by the little kiosk.

Off-road Run Session - Holyrood Car Park

Sunday off-road Run – Holyrood Car Park – 10.15am
(off-road shoes recommended)

Starting from Holyrood Car Park at 9.30 by the little kiosk.

The recent Scottish Government guidance and Triathlon Scotland guidance allows for 30 people to attend an organised sports session. For safety, we will do a ratio of 1 coach to 14 individuals (1:14) for running.

Rather than a training session, this session is a led off-road run in Holyrood Park. We will meet after the swim session at 10.15am in front of the Commie Pool and head to the trails around Arthur’s Seat.
