Club training

Edinburgh Triathletes seeks to provide an inclusive training environment within one of the largest and most successful triathlon clubs in Scotland. We organise two premier events in the triathlon calendar namely the Gullane Beach triathlon and the New Year’s Day triathlon, and it is thought that the first triathlon in Scotland was organised by ET members.

These evening runs are suitable for complete novices through to more experienced runners so everyone is welcome to come along. If you have never run with a group before and are new to running then this is the ideal place for you to start.

Some weeks are steady run sessions or work on technique, whereas others work on strength or pace. The only prerequisite is that anyone coming along should be able to run 3-4 miles without stopping.

We will have a triathlon specific one hour session costing £20 for a four week block which you should pay coach, John Whittaker up front directly and be ready to roll at 19:30. We have up to 20 bikes which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

AGM

As well as the excitement of the AGM and voting for new committee members, the night will also include a question and answer session with former professional triathletes Blair and Fraser Cartmell as well as the annual prize giving.

As this is an uber-AGM, with invited special guests and the opportunity to see your fellow club members rewarded for their achievements, we’re pushing the boat out on the catering to something a bit better than pizzas from boxes.  The evening will include dinner and the menu is:

  • Chicken chasseur;
  • Butternut squash and sage risotto;
  • Baby potatoes and seasonal vegetables;
  • Tea and coffee.

There will also be a cash bar.
